Energy Control Equipment has developed a method for analyzing a customer's refrigeration system to accurately predict the cost, the savings, and the payback time for the installation of a Frigitek system. The analysis system is based on Microsoft Excel, and comprises more than 20 separate sheets. There are separate Spreadsheets for Single-Phase and for Three-Phase Frigitek systems.
The basic data required for the analysis are:
Voltage and Amperage per motor (Single-Phase)
Horsepower per motor (Three-Phase)
Number of motors per evaporator
Number of thermostats in the room
Number of evaporators per thermostat
Electricity cost per kilowatt-hour
Additional input takes into account the operation time percentage, the estimated shipping and installation costs, the percentage of time the room is being cooled, and even the tax on the equipment cost! And, certain spreadsheet cells with pre-set data may be modified if the engineer feels that he has more specific data for the installation.
Typically, one of our Sales Representatives will collect this data during a visit to the customer, but, if a customer sends the data to us directly, the process can be accelerated.
The Analysis Spreadsheet has three different sections -
- One section collects the data for the various rooms and analyzes each room separately.
This is the technical area, for the engineers.
- One section compiles all the data from the rooms into a cost/savings/payback summary.
This is for the managers and money people.
- One section calculates the possible rebate from the electricity supplier.
This is used with the Rebate Application.
